Firstly, may I wish you a wonderful New Year and great golfing for 2019.
Golf can be best defined as an endless series of tragedies obscured by the occasional miracle, followed by a drink and a good catch up with friends - a favourite proverb of mine and so often true to this wonderful game we love.
I am Chris Duffy the Club’s new General Manager and along with my team we are responsible for the giving you the best possible golfing and social experiences at Huddersfield Golf Club.
The club has recently completed its bunker regeneration project and I would like to thank Ben and his maintenance team for completing the project on time, on budget and ready for the 2019 golfing season.
Our Chefs, George, Chris and Kerry have served over 500+ Christmas Carvery dinners and with the two Matt’s alongside Louise in the bar having poured a couple of festive beverages it’s been a wonderful festive season at HGC. The highlights were the successful hosting of our children’s Christmas Party, Christmas Carol Concert and rounded off by the New Years Eve celebrations which was a great way to welcome in 2019.
Over the coming weeks, we will keep you informed of our club developments both on and off the course as we move forward towards the 2019 golfing season.
At Huddersfield Golf Club I believe we have something for everyone and I aim to make it a lively fun facility for all the family to play or learn the wonderful game of golf. 18 holes of outstanding golf, great practice facilities and coaching lead by Alex and her team accompanied by the wonderful clubhouse make this a great club to be a part of.
It is an exciting time for myself as I return to the UK from past positions in Spain and Qatar. I’m a keen golfer, with a current handicap of 5 and look forward to meeting many of you in the near future, either in my office located at the front entrance to the clubhouse or as I get out on the course to see you swing the clubs.
Lastly please don’t forget we have a couple of events lined up in January including the Yorkshire Golf Union Rules Seminar taking place on 16th January and the Rabbits Annual Dinner on the 11th January with a limited amount of spaces still available. Sign up for both events is available in the clubhouse.
