English Amateur Strokeplay

We are happy to announce that Huddersfield Golf Club member Lily Hirst will be defending her English Amateur Strokeplay title at Alwoodley Golf Club next week. Lily won this prestigious title at Stonham Golf Club last year. Huddersfield member Charlotte Colley will also be competing in this event. The competition will be at Alwoodley Golf Club on Tuesday 17, Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 June and as it is so close, we are sure some of you may wish to go along and support our girls. Good Luck to Lily and Charlotte. We will keep you updated on this.

Continued success for Huddersfield

Seniors Triumph at Halifax Golf Club

Congratulations to Rick Fairburn, Frank Greaves and Warren Lockett who secured the HHDUGC Senior Team Championship at Halifax Golf Club yesterday.

 Rick and Warren also won second and third places in the best gross competition, with Frank just behind in fourth. Sincere congratulations gentlemen.

English Women's Open Stroke Play Championship

The English Women's Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship is open to female amateur golfers of all nationalities. The Championship consist of 72 holes of Stroke Play and this year is being held at Stoneham Golf Club.

A maximum of 144 competitors will play one round of 18 holes on each of the first two days. After 36 holes, the leading 40 competitors and all those tying for 40th place shall play a further 36 holes on the final day.

Following Day 1, we are very pleased to report that Lily Hirst currently lies in second spot after a superb opening -3 round of 71 to lie in tied second place. Lily tees off for her second round at 1.30 pm today and we wish her all the very best.

R & A Amateur Championship

As previously mentioned, Dylan is currently competing in The Amateur Championship at Ballyliffin in Ireland and we are pleased to report that he secured 34th place in the opening Stroke Play competition, finishing on +2 after rounds of 76 & 69.

That has moved him onto the Match Play section of the competition. In Round 1, teeing off at 11.08 am, he plays Germany's Wolfgang Glawe. Once again we wish him our very best,
